Mentalism has been a hobby of mine for a long time and hypnosis is a perfect fit for my interests. As a martial arts instructor I see it both as a tool to benefit my students and as a means to provide some entertainment.

I honestly don't remember. Perhaps through first discovering your pals' videos on YouTube.
Interest in hypnosis?
I've been hypnotizing guys for 25 years--sometimes therapeutically, more often for fun and erotic enhancement. Interestingly, I've never wanted to be a subject myself--until I read your blog! Now I realize I could almost certainly be a better hypnotist if I had first-hand experience of trance. So you've got me thinking . . .
I've enjoyed your blog a lot, Parkey. You're a bright, engaging guy and a good writer, and your enthusiasm is infectious. You've gained amazing insight in only 6 months. To me, your most perceptive observation so far is that an induction is only window dressing: it's all a question of the sub's expectations and imagination. If you come off as confident and in charge, and the sub believes you're a bona fide hypnotist, you could recite a Shakespeare sonnet and he'd go under!
Something I'm curious about: You describe the feeling you get when subjects respond to your commands as "intoxicating" and a "buzz." That's very cool, but I suspect it's more than just a tickling of your intellect. I'd love to read some introspective rumination about what exactly has you so obsessed . . . er . . . I mean, interested. :-) For many of us, the intoxication comes from the feeling of power--the extraordinary power and control one person can have over another through hypnosis. Do you think that's it for you? Partly it? Or is it something else entirely?

I may have found your blog via Hypnofantastico, and that via sneakyscorpio who is a member of site I joined called HypnotizeMe!
There's a weekly HypnoMeet here in NYC that I attend. It meets about 1x a week in a bookstore cafe. It isn't half as much fun as the ones you attend seem to be. You've given me some inspiration to ramp things up a bit at ours.
I am self-taught (book-taught)and relatively new at this as well. The MeetUps are a tremendous help.
My interest is is to become a good hypnotist mainly to play with strangers and friends. Delving into erotic hypnosis is a consideration as well.
Keep up the good work. I'm hooked on your blog. It's brilliant.
