About me

Hi I'm Parkey,

In September 2008 I set out on the adventure of learning how to be a hypnotist. This started me off on a personal journey that has seen me rubbing shoulders with professional hypnotists, magicians, pickup artists and dating coaches. This blog is my account of the experiences I've had, the places I've been to, the people I've met, the highs and the lows.

I hope that you find that you have enjoyed what you have read here, and be heard by leaving a comment saying what you liked or what you would like to know more about. My experiences often leave me with far too much to write about, so feedback and questions are always welcome.

What should you know about me?

Well, I am a 29 year old male living in Oxford in the United Kingdom. I am a professional engineer and my hobbies include cycling, gliding, dancing, archery and music. I am a Mac-user, and my other interests include reading and writing. I'm currently single and that means I have the freedom to do what I love most in the world, which is going out into the world and finding fun things to do.

I would describe myself as an observer of human nature. I have no formal training in psychology, and yet I find myself simply lapping up any new insight I can find into the workings of the individual mind. Belief, reasoning, social interaction and subjective experience are all of great interest to me; probably the backlash against a childhood dominated by cogs and wheels.

I am not any authority on the subjects of hypnosis, magic, or attraction and indeed I am comparatively new and inexperienced compared to many. I intend this blog as a record of my own experiences and musings as they happen, so don't be surprised if you come across my views changing over time; this is the joy of learning. I like to think that when I write I explain clearly the concepts I am talking about and give my reasons for believing what I do.

I hope you enjoy what I have written. Feel free to leave comments, especially if you want to ask me anything, I am always happy to get back to people who have read my writing.
